Founded by Certified Pastry Chef and Certified Culinarian Elizabeth Franklin, Butter & Batter Bakery creates handcrafted desserts that bring together thoughtful design, refined technique, and unforgettable flavor. From custom cakes to everyday bakery favorites, every creation is made with intention and care.

A Passion Turned Into a Profession

Elizabeth’s love for baking began with the memories created around her grandmother’s beautiful wedding cakes, where desserts became more than just something sweet—they became part of life’s most meaningful celebrations.

That inspiration sparked a passion for pastry and eventually led Elizabeth to pursue the craft professionally. But bringing Butter & Batter Bakery to life was a journey built with the support of those who believed in the dream from the beginning.

Her father played a special role in that journey, helping transform the bakery’s space into the storefront it is today and standing beside Elizabeth as one of her greatest supporters from day one. With his encouragement and countless hours of work, a dream became a place where the community could gather, celebrate, and enjoy handcrafted desserts.

She additionally earned the titles of Certified Pastry Chef and Certified Culinarian through the American Culinary Federation, continuing to develop her craft through education, experience, and a dedication to the art of pastry.

A Commitment to Excellence

In 2025, Elizabeth had the opportunity to train at a three-Michelin-starred restaurant in California, gaining firsthand experience in an environment built around precision, creativity, and exceptional culinary standards.

This experience provided a deeper appreciation for the details that elevate a dessert from something beautiful to something truly memorable. The techniques, discipline, and attention to quality gained through this experience continue to influence the way Butter & Batter Bakery approaches every creation.

Today, Butter & Batter Bakery is a full-service bakery creating custom cakes, wedding cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and sweet treats from its storefront.

At its heart, Butter & Batter Bakery is about creating desserts that become part of people’s memories. Whether designing a couple’s dream wedding cake, creating a custom celebration cake, or preparing a favorite bakery treat, Elizabeth believes every dessert deserves the same level of care, creativity, and attention to detail.

Outside of the bakery, Elizabeth enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with her cat, Sasha. And for those curious about her personal favorite, her go-to cake flavor is marble cake with chocolate ganache filling.
