Policies

Ordering

All orders must be placed in advance. An order is not confirmed or reserved until a signed contract and the required retainer have been received.
Availability is limited. Because each item is made from scratch and customized, we cannot accommodate last-minute bookings or hold dates without payment.
We strongly recommend booking as early as possible, especially for weddings and large events.

Payment

Butter & Batter Bakery only accepts payment through our secure invoicing system. No other forms of payment will be accepted.
Cash, Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, Zelle, personal checks, or alternative payment methods are not permitted under any circumstances.
All payments must be submitted by the due date listed on the invoice. Orders with unpaid invoices past the due date are subject to cancellation and removal from the calendar.
Failure to submit payment on time may result in forfeiture of your event date.

Refund Policy

Payments made toward custom orders, including retainers, are non-refundable. Refunds for payments beyond the retainer are not guaranteed and are issued solely at the discretion of Butter & Batter Bakery. Each order requires time, preparation, and reserved calendar space that cannot be recovered once booked.

All tasting box purchases are non-refundable. Tasting dates are scheduled months in advance and require significant preparation, planning, and labor. If you are unable to pick up your tasting box at the scheduled time, the purchase will not be refunded or credited. Rescheduling is not guaranteed and is subject to availability at the sole discretion of Butter & Batter Bakery.

All walk-in and retail bakery purchases are final sale. No refunds, returns, or exchanges will be issued.

Wedding orders operate under a separate contract with specific payment terms and cancellation policies. Wedding refund policies differ from standard custom orders and will be clearly outlined in your wedding agreement at the time of booking.

Changes to Orders

Pick-Up & Responsibility

Once an order has been picked up and has left our premises, full responsibility transfers to the client. Butter & Batter Bakery is not liable for any damage resulting from improper handling, transportation, or storage.
Clients are responsible for transporting all items on a flat, stable surface in a temperature-controlled vehicle. Cakes and desserts should be kept out of direct sunlight and away from heat.
We are not responsible for damage caused by failure to follow these instructions.

Allergies & Ingredients

Butter & Batter Bakery operates in a kitchen that regularly handles common allergens including, but not limited to, wheat, dairy, eggs, nuts, soy, and other potential allergens.
While we take reasonable precautions to minimize cross-contact, we do not operate in an allergen-free facility and cannot guarantee that any product is completely free of allergens.
Customers with food allergies assume full responsibility for informing us of any severe allergies at the time of ordering. We reserve the right to decline orders involving severe allergies at our discretion.

Design & Artistic Freedom

While we strive to match inspiration photos, all cakes are handcrafted and may vary slightly.
Butter & Batter Bakery reserves the right to make minor design adjustments when necessary.

Photography

Butter & Batter Bakery reserves the right to use photographs of the finished product(s) for promotional purposes. This includes images taken by the Bakery, as well as those shared directly with the Bakery by the Client, wedding guests, or the event photographer, and those publicly shared on social media platforms.
Such images may be used on social media, the Bakery’s website, and in printed or digital marketing materials. No compensation will be provided for the use of these images
